Noboya Safaris - Creating Hunting Memories

Malaria Free - Easily Accessible

Family Run,

Fair Game Hunting

The Noboya Conservancy was founded in 1993 by a group of farmers with the aim of establishing a sustainable conservation area through responsible and controlled hunting.  Kudu hunting, plains game hunting SA and big game hunting are all available. These farmers and their families applied these sustainable conservation practices and started hunting commercially in this area of hunting in South Africa, in 2004, when Noboya Safaris was established.

Several years on and the area and game continue to flourish.  Plains game and dangerous game are available to hunt.  Noboya African Hunting Safaris prides itself as a family run safari business where the personal touch and owner run style ensures not only a memorable hunt, but the beginnings of life long friendships. Hunting with sticks, first time hunters, experienced hunters are all welcome.

Noboya African Hunting Safaris, a malaria free hunting ranch in South Africa (including Kudu, plains game, big game)  is owned and run by Owen & Celeste Were, along with their 2 children, Mark and Madison.  Owen is 4th generation on the farm, where his Grandfathers and those before them were renowned stock farmers.  Owen grew up hunting in the hills of Noboya African Hunting Safaris, and has been privileged to be able to share the same experience with his son Mark and his daughter Maddy.

Hunting Seasons and Best Times to Visit

When planning a hunting trip to South Africa, understanding the hunting seasons is crucial for maximizing your experience. The hunting seasons vary by species and region, with most game hunting generally permitted from May to August, coinciding with the winter months when animals are more active and visible due to the drier conditions. During this time, foliage is less dense, making it easier for hunters to spot game. The cooler temperatures also contribute to better hunting conditions, as animals are more likely to be on the move during the day.

For those pursuing specific species, it is essential to research the hunting season for each animal, as some may have designated months for hunting. For instance, certain antelope species may have extended seasons, while others may be restricted to specific times of the year. Additionally, understanding the local climate can also play a role in planning your trip. The summer months, from December to February, can bring intense heat and rain, affecting wildlife movement and visibility. However, this time can still be rewarding for hunters who are well-prepared and adaptable.

Aside from the seasonal considerations, hunters should also factor in the best times to visit South Africa in relation to local events and travel conditions. During peak tourist seasons, accommodations and outfitting services may be in higher demand, leading to increased prices and limited availability. Planning your trip during the shoulder seasons can provide a more intimate experience with nature, as well as greater flexibility in scheduling hunts. Ultimately, aligning your hunting goals with the right season and conditions can significantly enhance the overall adventure.
